Down at B-71/11 in Mayapuri Phase-I, that’s where Rama Rolling Shutter Industries is based. If you know New Delhi, you know Mayapuri is where things get built. We spend our time making shutters for shops and warehouses. It’s a lot of banging metal and welding sparks. It isn’t the kind of job where you stay clean. By the end of the day, our clothes are usually covered in some kind of shop grime. We have been making these shutters for quite some time now. We use some old-school methods because they just work better for the heavy-duty stuff. A rolling shutter has to be tough, otherwise, what’s the point? Our workshop is crowded with tools, steel slats, and springs. It might look like chaos to someone from an office, but we know where everything is. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to answer phones with a script. You call or walk in, and you talk to the person who is actually going to be cutting the metal. We’re right here in the heart of the industrial area, surrounded by other workshops and small factories. It gets hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we just keep the fans going and get on with the orders. People know us because we’ve been in this spot long enough to become part of the scenery.
