We’ve been here at WZ-29 in Mansarovar Garden for a long while now. If you know the Ring Road area, you probably know how the Marble Market gets during the middle of the day. It is usually pretty loud with the trucks coming in and out at all hours. We spend most of our time just moving these big slabs around. It’s hard work and the dust gets everywhere, on our clothes and inside the office. There are so many shops around here, but we just stay in our corner and do what we do. People stop by after seeing the sign from the main road. Sometimes they just want to see what a specific piece looks like under the actual sun. We show them whatever is sitting in the yard. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning everywhere. It's a stone yard. You get used to the smell of wet stone and the sound of the cranes. Some days it's just us and the tea guy coming around. We don't really do the big speeches. If someone needs a piece of marble for their floor or a counter, they look at what we have on the racks. The traffic on the Ring Road is probably the worst part of being here, especially when we are trying to unload a fresh shipment of stone. But that's just how it is in this part of town. We keep the gates open and wait for the next delivery to show up.
