Mandal Anirban Architects

I run Mandal Anirban Architects out of Pocket B in Siddharth Enclave. We are at D No. 47 D. It’s a quiet enough area for New Delhi, which helps when you need to focus on drawings and plans. I’ve been doing this for a while, and my approach is pretty straightforward. I don’t go for the really flashy stuff that doesn't work in real life. I like things that are practical and fit the space. Most of my day is spent at the desk or visiting sites to see how the building is actually going. It’s not all creative drawing; there’s a lot of checking on contractors and making sure the measurements are right. I started this because I liked building things, and that’s still the part I enjoy most. The office is a bit cluttered with rolls of paper and samples of materials like stone and wood. It’s a working space, not a showroom. If you come by, you’ll probably see us arguing over a blueprint or drinking tea while waiting for a client. We don’t have a huge team, just a few people who are good at what they do. New Delhi can be a tough place to build anything, but we know the local rules pretty well. It’s just us doing our best on every project we take on. It’s satisfying to see a house go from a drawing to a real place where people live. That is what keeps us going every day.
