Ankit Chawla Architect & Interior is located at B/20/11. It’s a simple address for a simple way of working. We don't have a big front desk or a lobby. You just walk in and we are right there working on whatever project is on the table that day. The space is filled with the usual stuff you’d expect—lots of rulers, pencils, and large screens showing 3D models. We spend a lot of time going back and forth between the computer and the physical site. It’s not a glamorous job. There is a lot of dust and a lot of talking to plumbers and electricians to make sure things are going right. Our office at B/20/11 is where we do all the thinking and the drawing. It can get pretty quiet when everyone is focused, or really loud when we are trying to solve a problem with a design. We don't use big words or try to act more important than we are. We just like to figure out how to make a space work better for whoever is using it. Every day is a bit different, which is fine by us. We’ve had this spot for a bit and it serves us well for the kind of practical work we do. There’s always another plan to finish or a new sketch to start before we head home.
