Kartik Engineers

Kartik Engineers is tucked away in Gali No. 3 in Vishwas Nagar. We are on the 1st floor at 1/37. Shahdara is always a bit crowded, and our street is no different. You have to watch where you walk because there are always scooters and people moving around. Being on the first floor means we have to haul everything up the narrow stairs, which is always a bit of a struggle. Once you’re inside, though, it’s our space. We have our tools and our benches set up. It’s an engineering spot, so there are always parts lying around and the smell of cutting oil in the air. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If you come to see us, you’re going to see us in our work shirts, probably with a bit of grease on our hands. The light comes in through the front windows, but we usually have the big overhead lights on so we can see what we are doing clearly. We’ve been in this part of Shahdara for a while now. The neighbors know the sound of our machines. It’s a tight-knit area where everyone is working on something or other. We just keep to ourselves and focus on the engineering tasks at hand. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it at 1/37 for quite some time. We just finish our work and lock up when the day is done.
