I.V.S. (Internation Visa Services)

Our office is over at B-1 in the Kasturba Niketan Complex, which is part of Lajpat Nagar-II in New Delhi. If you’ve ever been to Lajpat Nagar, you know it’s always moving and there’s always something happening around every corner. We’re right in the middle of that energy. The complex itself is an older building, so it has that lived-in feel to it. We deal with a lot of papers and passports here, so our desks are usually covered in folders and stamps. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the requirements we have to keep track of, but we’ve got a system that works for us. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with expensive coffee; it’s more of a place where you come to get things sorted out. The staff here is small but we’ve been doing this long enough to know the routine. We spend a lot of time on the phone and checking the latest rules on the computer. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a bit of a rattling noise, but we just ignore it and keep working. It’s a practical environment for a practical job. We don’t make big promises, we just do the paperwork and try to make sure everything is in order before it goes out. It’s a steady pace and we like being in such a central part of the city. There is always someone coming in or going out with a folder in their hands.
