Indian Fabric Consortium

Indian Fabric Consortium is based out of 15/502 East End Apartments, Phase I Extension in Mayur Vihar. Our setup is a bit different because we are located in a residential style complex rather than a big factory. It makes the whole work environment feel a bit more quiet and personal. We have samples of different fabrics and paperwork spread across our desks most of the time. Being in Mayur Vihar is convenient because we are close to the metro station and plenty of small local shops. The apartment is where all the planning and sample checking happens throughout the day. We do not have heavy machinery here, just shelves filled with fabric swatches and books of patterns. You can often hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like kids playing or people talking, which is nice. It is a fairly relaxed atmosphere compared to a loud industrial estate. We spend our mornings looking over new designs and talking to the people who do the weaving for us. Because the space is not huge, we have to stay very organized so we don't get buried in cloth. We drink a lot of tea in the little kitchen and just work through our lists. It is a simple way of doing things that fits our small team well. We don't need a lot of space to keep the business running.
