Hotel Oxford International

Hotel Oxford International is tucked away in Gali No 1 over in Multani Dhanda. If you know Paharganj, you know it’s a busy place with a lot of narrow lanes and people everywhere. Our building is at number 8940. It’s been here for some time now. We get a lot of different people coming through, from backpackers to folks just in Delhi for a quick bit of business. The area is always moving, so there is always something to hear outside the windows. We try to keep things simple inside. It’s not one of those huge hotels you see in the movies, just a regular place to sleep. We spend a lot of our time making sure the rooms are tidy and answering questions about where to find the best tea nearby. Sometimes the electricity flickers or the street gets blocked by a cart, but that’s just life in this neighborhood. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big lobby. It’s more about having a roof over your head that doesn’t cost too much. We see a lot of the same faces sometimes when travelers come back to Delhi. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if it’s your first time, but once you find Gali No 1, you’re basically there. We just keep doing what we do every day. We don't have any big corporate plans. We just want to keep the rooms decent and the doors open for whoever comes by. It’s a bit chaotic out on the street, but that's Delhi for you.
