Hotel Classic Palace

Running this place in Paharganj is never quiet, that’s for sure. We are right at F 8678, just across from Sanjivani Hospital. You can imagine how it gets, with people coming and going at all hours. Some of our guests are here because they have family in the hospital, so things can feel a bit heavy sometimes. We just try to keep things steady for them. The building is old, and the streets around here are narrow and packed with rickshaws. It can be a headache to navigate if you aren’t used to it. I spend a lot of my time answering the phone or showing people where the extra blankets are kept. We have a few staff members who have been with us for years, so we all know the routine pretty well. The morning starts with the sound of the city waking up, which happens pretty early in Delhi. We don't have a big restaurant, but there’s always tea being made somewhere nearby. The rooms are basic, just the essentials really. Sometimes the internet is slow or a lightbulb flickers, and we have to run around fixing things. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the dust from the street too. But we’ve been here a long time and we know the neighborhood like the back of our hand. It’s just a regular spot for travelers who need a bed in this part of town.
