Hotel Atlanta Continental on Arakashan Road in Paharganj. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how it is. It’s crowded and noisy and full of life. Our building is number 79771. It’s a tall one for this street. We have a lot of stairs, and I probably walk up them twenty times a day. The rooms are tucked away from the main street noise, but you can still hear the horns honking if you open the windows. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been here for years. We do the cleaning and the check-ins and everything else. The floors are stone, so they stay a bit cooler in the summer. We don't have a big fancy sign, just a simple one that people look for. Sometimes tourists get a bit lost in the lanes around here, so we have to go out and find them. It’s a busy life. We don't have a kitchen that serves big meals, but there’s plenty of food right outside on the street. We just provide the room and a place to wash up. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s real. We see people from all over. They come with big backpacks and stories. We just give them a key and let them be. It’s just a building on a busy Delhi road and we are here every day.
