Hotel Alka

We’ve been at 16/90 in Connaught Circus for a long time now at Hotel Alka. If you know Delhi, you know that 110001 is right in the heart of everything. It’s a circular area and sometimes people get a bit confused with the blocks, but we are right there in the thick of it all. The buildings here have that old style with the high ceilings and the big white pillars. Our place is just one of many, but we like being here. The noise from the traffic and the crowds never really stops, even late at night. We just go about our business, checking people in and out. It’s a lot of walking for us since the building is older and has its own little quirks. We don’t use any fancy talk to describe what we do here. It’s just a hotel. People stay here because they want to be near the shops and the metro station. We spend our mornings cleaning up and getting ready for the next round of visitors. It’s a busy life. Sometimes the pipes are old or the walls need a new coat of paint, and we just handle it as we go along. There’s always someone at the front desk to help out if there is a problem. We aren't a big chain, just a local spot that’s been part of the circus for years. It’s practical and it works for the people who visit. We just keep the doors open.
