Habitat Architect

Habitat Architect is located in the basement of house number 64 in Hemkund Colony, Greater Kailash 1. It is a bit tucked away, but we like the quiet down here. Working from a basement means we do not get too much noise from the street, which is good when you are trying to focus on complicated architectural sketches. We have been in GK1 for some time now, focusing on residential projects mostly. We are not trying to be the biggest firm in Delhi. We just want to make sure the houses we design are comfortable to live in. We spend a lot of time on the small details that people might not notice at first but make a big difference later on. It is just a few of us here, surrounded by rolls of blueprints and technical books. Sometimes we go out to sites to check on the construction progress, but this basement is where the main thinking and drawing happens. We do not use any corporate jargon or fancy talk. If a design does not work, we change it until it does. It is a straightforward process of trial and error and a lot of drafting. If you are around Hemkund Colony, we are the ones working downstairs. It is a simple setup but it works for us and the people we help with their building plans. We take it one project at a time here.
