Dev Marble Granites

Our shop, Dev Marble Granites, is right on the Ring Road, near the Mayapuri Flyover. It's C-11/1 in Mansarovar Garden. You can’t really miss the stacks of granite outside. The traffic is always moving fast there, so you have to be careful when you pull in. We spend most of our day out in the sun or under the shed. It gets hot, but that’s the job. We have different types of marble and granite just sitting there. Some are from nearby, some from further away. We don't have a salesperson in a suit. It’s just us in our work clothes. We talk to people about what they need for their floors or kitchens. Sometimes they bring their kids and they run around the slabs, which makes us a bit nervous. We’ve been at this spot for quite a while. The flyover changed things, made it noisier but easier to find. We drink a lot of water and keep the records in a big leather book. It’s not a high-tech operation. We just know our stones. If someone asks for a specific color, we usually know if we have it without looking. It’s a lot of lifting and moving. We usually close up when it starts getting dark. There’s a tea stall just a few doors down where we go to unwind. It’s a simple life, mostly surrounded by heavy rocks and busy roads.
