Marble Emporium

Marble Emporium is situated at Khasra No 669, which is quite close to Tivoli Garden in Chattarpur. This part of Delhi has a lot of these big open yards for stone and marble. We have a good amount of space here to keep our stock. Being near Tivoli Garden makes us easy to find for most people. We have been here for a good few years, watching the area grow and change. The yard is usually quite busy with laborers moving slabs around. We don't have a big air-conditioned office. Most of the time we are outside with the customers, showing them the different patterns in the stone. Every piece of marble is a bit different, and we like to show the natural variations. Sometimes the ground gets a bit muddy when we wash the slabs to show the colors, but that is part of the work. We don't try to push anyone into buying. We just tell them what we know about the durability of the stone. It is a very practical business. We deal with architects and home owners mostly. Some days are slow and we just spend them organizing the piles of stone, while other days are a bit chaotic with three or four trucks trying to load at once. We just take it as it comes. It is an honest living and we are happy to be part of the local community. There is always work to be done in the yard.
