Bourne Architects

Our office is inside House No 496 on Joshi Road. We are quite close to Joshi Hospital, which is a good landmark for anyone trying to navigate the busy streets of Karol Bagh. Bourne Architects isn't a huge firm with a lot of different departments. It’s a local business that we run out of this house. We’ve converted a couple of the rooms into our studio where we do all our drawing and planning. It feels more like a home than a typical office, and we find that helps us stay relaxed while we work. We have sketches pinned up on the walls and piles of books on the tables. The neighborhood is always full of life and noise, but we’ve lived and worked here so long that we don't really notice it anymore. We spend our days designing spaces and talking to people about their building projects. We don't use high-pressure tactics or have a corporate brand to maintain. We usually just sit down with a cup of tea and talk through ideas with our clients. It’s a very personal way of doing things, and we like it that way. We aren't looking to become a giant company. We just want to do good work for the people in Karol Bagh and around Delhi. The building is a bit older and the floors creak, but it’s a good place for us to work simply and honestly.
