About A. M. Marbo Granite – Building & Construction Material in New Delhi
Our place is over at 3-b Rajendra Park, right near Pusa Road. It’s a busy area and there’s always something going on outside. We have slabs of granite and marble leaning against the walls. It’s heavy stuff, so we spend a lot of time making sure everything is secure and doesn't tip. The stone has a lot of dust, so we’re always wiping things down so people can see the patterns clearly. People come in looking for something specific for their kitchens or floors. We show them what we have in the yard. It’s not a polished gallery or anything like that. It’s more of a working yard where you can see the raw material. Sometimes the pieces have small chips or natural marks, which we point out because that’s just how stone is. My hands are usually a bit rough from moving the samples around. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The sun hits the yard in the afternoon and makes the granite look different than it does in the morning. We try to keep a decent variety, but it depends on what the trucks bring in. It's a lot of waiting for shipments and then a lot of heavy lifting once they arrive. We don't use big sales pitches. If a person likes a piece of stone, they buy it. That’s all there is to it. We keep a bucket of water and a sponge ready to show the true colors of the marble slabs.
