Ahura Engineering & Mechanical Works

Our shop, Ahura Engineering & Mechanical Works, is out at Midc Plot No. R-653 in Rabale. It’s right off the Thane-Belapur Road, which is always packed with big lorries and tankers. The plot itself is quite large, so we have plenty of room for the heavy machines and all the scrap metal that tends to pile up in the corners. You’ll usually find us covered in a bit of oil or grease because there is always something that needs fixing or turning. The air in Rabale has that distinct industrial smell, a mix of exhaust and worked metal. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address painted near the gate. On most days, the sound of grinding and welding fills the space, making it hard to hear the phone ring. We have an old office area tucked away in the back where the paperwork happens, but we prefer being out on the floor. The heat from the machines makes the shed quite warm in the afternoons, so we take breaks when we can. We’ve had some of the same equipment for twenty years, and it still runs better than the new stuff. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don’t spend much time cleaning up for visitors; we just focus on getting the mechanical parts sorted out. It is a long day but we always get through it.
