Sardar Patel College

Sardar Patel College has been here in Hilsa for a good while now. If you walk down the main roads in Nalanda, you will find us easily enough. The building isn't brand new or anything, but it does the job for the students who come here from the surrounding villages. Most days, the halls are pretty loud with people heading to their next class. We have a few different rooms for lectures and a place where everyone gathers during the breaks. It gets quite busy in the mornings when everyone arrives at the same time. The staff here mostly just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the exams happen on time. There isn't much fuss or fancy stuff going on. We just try to keep the place running smoothly every day of the week. Sometimes the electricity goes out, but we just carry on with the windows open. The benches are old wood and the chalkboards have seen better days, but they still work fine for teaching. People in Hilsa know us as just another part of the town. We don’t have big advertisements or anything like that. Students just show up because they need to get their degrees. It is a practical place where people come to learn what they need to. We spend a lot of time organizing papers and making sure the registers are filled out correctly. It is just a regular college doing its thing in this part of Bihar.
