Gurukul Vidhyapeeth

Our school is situated in Patel Nagar, which is a part of Biharsharif in the Nalanda district. It’s a local neighborhood school. We have a plain building that we have used for years to teach the local children. The area around us is mostly residential, so we see a lot of familiar faces every day. We don't have a big budget for fancy things. Instead, we put our effort into the daily classes. The teachers here are dedicated people from the local community who know the students and their families. We have the standard classrooms with benches and boards. It’s a bit noisy when the kids are out for their break, but that’s the sound of a school. We don't use a lot of corporate talk here. We just say what needs to be said and get on with the teaching. Biharsharif can be quite busy, and Patel Nagar has its own local traffic, but once you’re inside the gates, it’s all about the books. We follow the usual curriculum and try to make sure the kids are ready for their tests. Sometimes we have to deal with minor repairs or power cuts, but that is just part of living and working in Nalanda. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a schedule that we follow. It’s a simple, honest way to run a school for the neighborhood kids.
