Wardhaman Saloon

Wardhaman Saloon is over in the Madan Building on C A Road in Wardhaman Nagar. We’re right across from the petrol pump, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us in Nagpur. The shop has been around for a while, and the building has that old-school feel to it. Inside, we’ve got the traditional barber chairs and large mirrors that have a few spots on them that won't come off. The floor is tiled and we spend a good chunk of our day sweeping up hair. Nagpur gets incredibly hot in the summer, so we have a couple of wall fans that stay on all day long to keep the air moving. It’s a local spot where people come for a quick shave or a haircut while they chat about the news or the cricket scores. We don't have any fancy music playing, usually just the sound of the scissors and the hum of the fans. The sink in the back sometimes leaks a little, so we keep a bucket under it just in case. It’s not a high-end place with polished floors, but it’s comfortable and familiar for the people who live around here. We know most of our customers by their first names and how they like their hair done. It’s a steady, honest business that doesn’t try to be something it isn’t. We just open up the shutters every morning and wait for the regulars.
