Vishal Masale

If you walk down Manewada Road in Nagpur and turn into Gurley House Gali No 3, you’ll find us. Vishal Masale is located at Plot No -49, right near the Ganesh Mandir. You can often hear the temple bells in the morning, which is a nice way to start the workday. Our neighborhood, Dr Khankhoje Nagar, is a regular residential area, so we’re surrounded by houses and families. The shop is basically a part of the local life here. We do a lot of grinding and mixing, so there’s always a bit of spice dust in the air. It’s a small family-run kind of thing, not a big industrial plant. We have our old machines that make a lot of noise, but they get the job done. The heat in Nagpur can be brutal, so we try to keep the fans going all day. There’s always someone stopping by to chat or ask for a small packet of something. We keep things pretty simple. The floor is concrete, the walls are plain, and we have bags of chilies and coriander everywhere. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we know where everything is. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure we have enough stock for the local people who rely on us.
