We’ve been set up here at 260 West High Court Road for quite some time now. Rajaji Nagar is a busy part of town and our place fits right in with the rest of the shops. Parimal Tasty Spices started because we just wanted to make spices that actually tasted like they should. It isn’t a huge, fancy operation with shiny floors. It’s just us working with different spice blends every single day. To be honest, the smell in the building is really strong, but after an hour you don't even notice it anymore. We spend most of our hours checking the grinders and making sure the bags are sealed right. Sometimes the machinery gets stuck or a shipment is delayed because of the traffic on the main road. That’s just life here. People in the neighborhood know the building. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to get our products into the local kitchens. It gets a bit dusty and loud during the afternoon shift. My own desk is usually a mess of invoices and little plastic sample bags. We don't have some big team of experts. It’s just a handful of us making sure the work gets finished. This spot on West High Court Road is old, but it does the job. We do all the packing and weighing ourselves. It is hard work but it’s what we know. You can usually smell the pepper or the turmeric from down the street.
