Uttam Saoji Bhojnalay is a small place located on Zenda square road in the Mahal area of Nagpur. If you know Nagpur, you know that Saoji food is a big deal here. We are right by Tirupati bhawan, so it’s easy to spot if you’re walking around Mahal. The shop isn't very large, but we make do with the space we have. It gets quite hot in the kitchen, especially during the peak hours in the afternoon. We don't have fancy menus or waiters in uniforms. It is just a traditional bhojnalay setup. People come here for the specific spice of Saoji cooking. We've been at this spot for a while, and the neighborhood hasn't changed much. The road outside can get a bit noisy with traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s all about the meal. We don’t spend money on marketing or big signs. Most people find us through word of mouth or they just live in the Mahal area. It’s a simple operation. We open up, cook the batches for the day, and serve until we are done. Sometimes we close early if the food finishes. We like keeping it simple like that. It’s just how we do things here in Nagpur. No pressure, just honest food for local people who know what they like to eat and want something that tastes like home cooking without any of the extra fuss.
