Ashoka Restaurant

Ashoka Restaurant has been a part of Sadar Bazar for many years. We are located on Mount Road, right across from the Coffee House. It is one of the busiest streets in Nagpur, so there is always a lot of noise and movement right outside our windows. The restaurant is quite old-fashioned with simple furniture and a floor that has seen a lot of feet over the decades. We serve the kind of food that people in this city grew up eating. It is not a place for a fancy date or a corporate meeting, but it is good for a quick lunch or a family dinner. The kitchen is always humming and the smells of spices and frying food fill the air. Sometimes when it is really hot in Nagpur, the fans inside struggle to keep the place cool, but people still come in. We don’t have any fancy marketing or a big sign, just the name above the door. On the weekends, it can get very crowded and you might have to wait a bit for a table. The staff has been with us a long time and they know most of the regular customers by name. We just focus on getting the food to the table and keeping the plates clean. It is a local institution in Sadar, and we like being right in the heart of the bazaar where all the life is.
