Tripti Garam Mix Masala

We are located at Shop No- 6 in Godbole Colony, right on Annapurna Road. If you know the area, we are directly opposite the Annapurna Temple. The bells from the temple ring quite early in the morning and that is usually when we start our day at Tripti Garam Mix Masala. It’s a small space, mostly filled with sacks of cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. We spend most of our time mixing these things in the right amounts. My hands always smell like cardamom, even after I wash them with soap three times. The shop isn't very large so we have to be careful about where we step. There is a small desk in the corner where we keep the books, but mostly we are on our feet. The traffic on Annapurna Road can get quite loud during the afternoon, but inside the shop, we just focus on the scales. We don't use big machines that make a lot of noise. We prefer doing things by hand because you can see the quality better that way. Sometimes a neighbor stops by to complain about the heat, and we share a glass of water. It's just a regular local business. We’ve been in this colony for a while now and most people know us by the scent coming from the doorway. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not fancy but it’s ours.
