I've been running Shri Gift And Stationery Khelni And General Stores here on Chikhali Road in Old Amar Nagar for a while now. It is just a small place at No:04, right in the Manewada area. Most days I am behind the counter sorting through notebooks, pens, and those small toys kids like. We keep a bit of everything because people in the neighborhood always need something last minute, maybe a gift for a birthday or just some basic household stuff. It gets busy in the mornings when students stop by before school starts. The shop isn't fancy or anything. Just rows of shelves filled with general items we think might be useful. Sometimes the stack of papers gets a bit messy, but I know where everything is. Living and working here in Manewada, you get to know the faces. It is a quiet routine. I spend a lot of time checking the stock of khelni and making sure the stationery hasn't run out. Dealing with the distributors is a lot of work, but keeping the shop going is what I do. People come in, chat for a minute about the weather, and pick up what they need. It’s just a normal local store. I try to keep things organized but sometimes a box of pens ends up where it shouldn't. That is just how it goes when you’re managing it mostly on your own. It is a steady life here on Chikhali Road.
