You can find us at Anand Palace, which is right on the Manewada Besa Road. We’ve been running this general store for some time, and we added the gift section because people kept asking for it during the holidays. It’s a mix of everyday stuff like soap, toothpaste, and snacks, along with things you’d give as a gift. We have shelves filled with plastic containers, some stationery for school kids, and a bunch of toys for different ages. The Manewada area is growing fast, so we see new faces all the time moving into the nearby flats. The shop itself is tucked into the building, and we use the front space to display some of the larger items like gift baskets. It’s a bit of a juggle keeping everything organized. When the school nearby lets out, the shop gets really crowded with kids looking for pens or small treats for themselves. We don't have a big staff, usually just one or two of us behind the counter handling everything. The floor is simple tile, and we have a lot of stuff hanging from the ceiling hooks to save space on the floor. It feels like a typical neighborhood shop where you can grab a packet of biscuits and a birthday card at the same time without any trouble. We know which neighbors like which brands of tea and we often save things for them. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the inventory, but we like being part of the daily life here on Besa Road.
