Sahil Masala

Our shop Sahil Masala is tucked away in Khadak Pura, right by Nehru Chowk. If you know the main market area, you know how hectic it can get around here. There is always someone shouting or a scooter honking, but that’s just the way life is in this part of town. We’ve been working with spices for a long time. It’s a small place, and most of the space is taken up by bags of ingredients. The air always smells like cumin and turmeric, which usually sticks to our clothes by the time we go home. We don't have a big team or fancy offices. It is just a few of us making sure everything is handled right. We don't use any complicated machines, just the basics that get the job done. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things a bit too high, but we manage. People from the neighborhood stop by while they’re out doing their other shopping. We like the chatter and the busy feel of Nehru Chowk. We aren't trying to be a huge corporation. We just want to keep providing the spices that people here use in their kitchens every day. It is hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but we’ve been doing it for years and we’re used to the grind by now. Most days we are just busy filling orders and talking to the locals who stop by.
