Nipun Masale is located at Shop No. 6 inside the H.I. Complex. We are right near the Diwani X-Ing, which is always a very busy part of the city. There’s constant noise from the cars and people outside. We mostly deal with spices, so the air inside the shop always has a strong scent that makes you sneeze if you aren't used to it. I took over this spot from my father. We have a couple of grinding machines in the back that we use every day. They are old but they still work well enough for what we need. It’s a small shop, so we have to be very careful about where we stack the bags. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure the spices we sell are what people expect for their cooking. Sometimes the machines break down and I have to spend the whole afternoon fixing them, which is a real pain. We don't do much advertising. People just see our shop when they are stuck at the crossing and decide to stop in. It’s a lot of manual work, cleaning the seeds and making sure everything is dry. We try to keep things simple and not overcomplicate the process. It’s just me and a helper most days. We stay open until the sun goes down and the traffic thins out a bit. It’s a decent way to spend the day.
