New Baithak Sawji

New Baithak Sawji is located in the Mahal area of Nagpur, specifically on Ayachit Mandir Road. It is quite close to the old Natraj Talkies at Zenda Chowk, which is a place most locals know well. Being in Mahal means we are right in the heart of the old city where the streets are narrow and everything feels a bit crowded. Our place is simple, just a room with some tables and chairs where people can sit and eat their meals. The Sawji style of cooking is what we do, and it is known for being quite spicy, which is how most people around here like it anyway. The kitchen can get quite hot in the afternoons, but that’s just how it goes in Nagpur during the summer. We don’t really do any decorations or have a fancy entrance. The walls are a bit plain and we focus more on the cooking than how the place looks. On weekends, the area gets even busier with people coming to the market or just hanging out around the chowk. We see a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for years. They don’t expect anything grand, just the same taste they are used to. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic outside and the sound of people talking, but that’s the charm of Mahal. We just open up every day, get the spices ready, and serve whoever comes through the door looking for a heavy, traditional meal.
