It's the heart of the market area, so there's always a lot of energy and people shouting. Our salon is tucked into the complex. It's a bit of an older building, so it has that solid, heavy feel to it. We get people coming in after they’ve been shopping for fabric or supplies in the market. It’s a good place to sit down and get away from the sun for a bit. The interior is just basic. We have the mirrors and the stations set up for whatever work needs doing. Because it's a unisex salon, we have a mix of customers. Some days it’s mostly students, other days it’s shop owners from the complex. We don't put on any acts here. It’s just us working through the day, one person at a time. The tea stalls nearby are where we get our morning chai. The walls in the shop could use a fresh coat of paint, but they have character and history. We’ve been part of Gandhibagh for a while and we like being in the middle of all the bustle.
