Manoj Saloon

It is a small shop on the ground floor of the Universal Meridian Apartment. Sneh Nagar is usually a quiet area. We get people from the apartments and the houses around Rajiv Nagar coming in. Usually, it is the same faces every week. We open up early and we stay late if someone needs a shave before a wedding or a party. It is a basic place with Shop No 1 written on the door. Mudra Financial is close by, so people use that as a landmark when they are trying to find us. We have a few chairs and some mirrors that have seen better days but they work fine for us. We do haircuts and shaves, mostly for the men who live around here. It is a place where neighbors catch up on what is happening in the colony. We do not do anything very complicated or stylish. Just standard cuts and keeping the beard neat. The floor gets swept a dozen times a day because we do not like it looking messy. Sometimes the kids from the building come in for their school haircuts and they never want to sit still in the chair. It makes the day go by fast. There is not any fancy music playing, just the sound of the scissors and maybe the news on a small radio in the corner. It is a practical little spot for the neighborhood. We like being here in Nagpur. (247 words)
