Little Explorers

Our little spot is at Plot No. 8 on Lane No. 7F in Vidya Nagar. It is a quiet residential area for the most part, right near the last bus stop. That bus stop is a big landmark for us because that’s how we tell people where to turn. The school isn't very large since it is sitting on a regular plot, but we make the most of the space we have. We’ve got a small front area where the kids wait for their parents in the afternoon. The lane is narrow, so it gets a bit crowded when everyone is dropping off their children at the same time. You can hear the neighborhood dogs barking and the occasional vegetable seller passing by. It feels like a home because, well, it basically is. We have decorated the walls with some bright colors to make it look cheerful for the little ones. The rooms are filled with toys and small chairs that we have to keep fixing because they get a lot of use. We don't have a huge staff, just a few of us who have been here since the start. We do everything ourselves, from cleaning the boards to making sure the drinking water is topped up. It is a lot of small tasks that add up to a long day, but we like the routine of it. It’s just a normal neighborhood school and we feel part of the street.
