Krushna Masale

We started Krushna Masale here on Royal Street a while back. If you know Jatharpeth, you know where the Tower Road intersection is, and we are just right near there. It’s a busy spot but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. Most days are spent sorting through different spices and making sure things are packed up correctly. Most of the people working here are family. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that, just the workspace where the grinding happens. The building isn't brand new, but it works for what we need. Sometimes the smell of the chilies gets a bit strong in the afternoon sun and we have to open all the windows. We just keep our heads down and do the work. Customers come in from around the neighborhood mostly. They know us by name and we know what they usually want when they walk through the door. It’s nothing too complicated. The weather here can be pretty hot in the summer which makes the drying process faster, I guess. We try to keep things tidy but when you are dealing with powders all day, there is always a bit of dust around. My father used to say that the work is what matters most. We just stick to that. Nothing fancy, just a small local setup near the main road where we do our business every day. It's been like this for a long time.
