Kannu Brothers

We are located at No. 67 right in the heart of the General Merchant Market in Gandhibagh. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s always crowded and full of energy. There’s a lot of shouting, loading, and unloading happening from early in the morning. Kannu Brothers is just one of the many shops lining the street, but we’ve been here long enough that we know most of our neighbors. The market has its own way of working, and we just fit into that. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things, as you’d expect from a general merchant. There isn't much room to move around when we have a lot of stock in, but we make it work. We usually sit on stools near the front so we can see who’s coming and going. The air smells like spices and old paper sometimes. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, face to face and without any pretension. We don’t have fancy signs or cooling systems that work all the time. Sometimes it gets hot, so we turn on the old ceiling fans. We spend a lot of time talking to regular customers who have been coming to Gandhibagh for years. It’s a busy life, but it feels right being in the middle of all that trade. No two days are exactly the same here.
