M & M Furniture Industries

We’ve been here at Chikali Layout for a good while now. The shop is right opposite the Damar Karkhana on Kalamana Road, which most people around here know pretty well. It’s mostly just us working with wood every day, making sure things get built right. It gets a bit dusty inside with all the cutting and sanding going on, but that’s just how it is when you’re making furniture from scratch. We started M & M Furniture Industries because we liked working with our hands and saw a need for it. Usually, we are busy with orders for local houses or shops nearby. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s a workshop. You’ll see planks of wood leaning against the walls and tools scattered on the benches if you walk in. My brother and a couple of guys help out with the heavy lifting and the finishing. Sometimes the weather makes the wood act up, so we have to be careful about how we store things. We don't spend much time on the computer or doing paperwork because the real work happens on the floor. People just drop by when they need a cupboard or a bed fixed up. We try to keep things simple and just do what needs to be done. It’s loud sometimes because of the machinery, but we are used to it. The address is 295, and we’re usually here from morning until the sun goes down. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy.
