Janki Upper Primary Public School

Janki Upper Primary Public School is located right on the Ring Road in the Janki Nagar part of Manewada. Because it sits on the Manewada Road, it’s a very easy place to find, but it also means we get a lot of dust from the heavy trucks passing by all day long. The school caters to upper primary kids, so they are at that age where they are starting to get a bit more serious but still like to run around. The building is a simple layout with classrooms arranged around a central space where we do most of our activities. It isn’t a very quiet area, but the students have grown used to the city sounds. The walls inside are painted a pale color that shows every fingerprint, and we’ve given up on keeping the floors perfectly clean because of all the feet walking in and out. Most of the staff members have been working in Manewada for years and know the local families well. We don’t have a fancy computer lab or anything like that; we mostly stick to books and talking. During the hot months, the classrooms can get pretty stuffy, so we try to keep the doors open for some air. It is just a normal, working-class school where people show up, do their lessons, and go home. There is always a bit of chaos during the lunch hour when everyone is eating together, but it’s a good kind of energy.
