Dolly Lady Parlour

You can find Dolly Lady Parlour at Tukdoji Bhavan on the Nandanvan Main Road. We are right in the heart of Nandanvan Colony in Nagpur. It is a very busy area with a lot of shops and houses all around us. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of noise from the horns and the buses, but we don't mind it much anymore. The parlour itself is a modest space. We have the usual things you would find in any lady's parlour, like the chairs that swivel and the big sinks for washing hair. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself. Now, it's just a daily routine of opening the shutters and sweeping the front. We have some regulars who have been coming to us since we first opened. They usually sit and chat while we work. The walls have a few pictures of different styles, but they are mostly there to cover the empty spots. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just do the work that needs to be done. Sometimes the water pressure is a bit low, so we have to keep buckets ready. It’s just how things are in an old building like Tukdoji Bhavan. We keep things honest and simple, and we are usually there until the streetlights come on and the market starts to quiet down.
