Darpan Salon

If you find yourself on Koradi Road in the Mankapur area of Nagpur, look for the Shiv Ram Complex. Our shop, Darpan Salon, is at Shop No 5-B. It’s a straightforward little place. Mankapur is a growing area, so we see new faces all the time, but we still have our core group of regulars who have been coming since we opened. The salon isn't very large, but we’ve tucked everything in where it fits. We have the standard chairs, some shelving for our bottles, and a big mirror that covers most of the main wall. The name "Darpan" means mirror, so it fits. The traffic on Koradi Road can be a bit much during office hours, so sometimes it’s hard to hear the music we play in the background. We usually have some local radio station on. The floor is easy to clean, which is good because we are always cutting. We don’t have a lot of frills. You come in, sit down, tell us what you want, and we get to work. It’s a practical setup for people who live around the Cara area. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when it’s slow, just watching the cars go by. It’s a nice neighborhood to be in. We keep our tools sharp and our towels fresh. It’s a simple business run by people who just want to do a decent job every day for the folks in Nagpur.
