Laksh Glass & Aluminum

Our shop is located at Shop No. 2 in Brijdham Apartment, right near Chapru Nagar Chowk. If you are passing through that area, you will probably hear the sound of our saws cutting through metal. We spend almost all our time working with glass and aluminum frames. It is a messy job with lots of dust and small metal shavings everywhere, but it is what we do. We make things like window frames, sliding doors, and those partitions you see in small offices. Local people usually come by with their measurements written on a piece of paper or a cardboard scrap. Some days we have so many orders we can't see the floor, and other days we are just cleaning up and organizing the offcuts. Aluminum is popular lately because it does not rust in the rain. We have seen the Chowk change a lot over the years with new shops opening and closing. We stayed small because it is easier to keep track of everything ourselves. If a large sheet of glass cracks while we are moving it, it is a bad day, but we just start over. We use basic tools and a lot of manual labor to get the fit just right. Sometimes the walls in these older buildings are not straight, which makes our job a bit of a puzzle. We are usually here until late evening. Just look for the shop with the glass leaning against the walls.
