A. K. Glass Industries

Our place is out on Kamptee Road, specifically at Khasra No. 26 near Pilinadi. It’s right by Uppalwadi if you’re looking for us. A. K. Glass Industries is where we cut and handle glass all day long. You have to be careful walking around because there’s always a bit of grit on the floor. We wear heavy gloves because the edges can be mean if you’re not paying attention. The machines make a lot of noise, and the air always feels a bit dry from the processing. It’s not a fancy industrial park; it’s just where the work happens. We get these big sheets delivered and then we spend the day breaking them down into whatever sizes are needed. It takes a steady hand. Sometimes a piece breaks when it shouldn’t, and that’s just money down the drain, but that’s the glass business. We don't have any big corporate slogans. We just try to get the cuts right and make sure the trucks are loaded properly so nothing cracks on the way out. The sun hits the warehouse roof and it gets hot inside, so we take breaks when we can. It’s a tough job but it’s what we know how to do here in Nagpur. We've been at this spot for quite a few years now and most of the locals know the sound of our cutters. It's just simple glass work.
