Ras Aluminium & Glass Work

We've been here in Nagpur for quite a bit now, right across from the Savitribai Mahila Society in Ayodhya Nagar. Most days involve cutting glass or fitting aluminium frames for windows and doors. It’s busy work. Sometimes people come in with a broken pane that needs fixing, or they want to change the look of their storefront. We just get on with it. The shop isn't fancy, but we have the tools we need. Working with glass means you have to be careful, obviously. My hands have seen a lot of work over the years. We stay open pretty regular hours. It’s a local spot, so we see the same faces from around the neighborhood. Sometimes the weather makes it tough when we are out on a job, but that’s just how it goes. If you’re walking by the society, you’ll probably hear the sound of the saw or see us loading up the truck. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we're just out back or at a site. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough. The glass comes in big sheets and we cut it down to size right here. It’s a bit dusty sometimes. People know where to find us if they need something done. We don't do much talking, mostly just measuring and fixing things until they’re right. The traffic on the road can get a bit loud, but we're used to it. The shop stays the same mostly. Just a lot of metal scraps and glass offcuts to deal with at the end of the day.
