Barberia The Salon

Our shop is upstairs on the first floor. People walk past the Vidharbh Sahitya Sangh building all day long. From our windows, we see the traffic moving toward Jhansi Rani Square. It gets quite loud during the rush hour. We have a couple of chairs set up. It is not a huge place, just enough for what we do. We mostly do haircuts and sometimes people want a head massage after a long day at work. We use the same tools we have had for a long time. Nagpur heat can be something else, so we keep the fan running all the time. We try to keep the place tidy but hair gets everywhere when it is busy. You can see the whole street from the window. Sitabuldi is always crowded with shoppers and office workers. Most of our customers are locals or people who work nearby in the buildings around here. We do not have a big fancy waiting room for people to sit in. Customers just sit on the wooden bench and wait their turn. It is a simple setup for a local business. If the shop is full, some people might go for a quick walk and come back later. That is just how it goes here in Nagpur. We have been in this spot long enough that everyone knows where to find us. It is near the square, so it is convenient even for people who do not live here. (247 words)
