It is usually pretty loud out on WHC Road by the time we get the doors open at Plot 241 here in Surendra Nagar. Most days start with sweeping the front step and getting the tattoo needles and the hair stations ready for whoever walks in. We have been at this spot in Nagpur for a while now, right near the Dangre Homoeo Clinic, which is how most people find us if they are lost. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually keep the shades halfway down to keep the place cool while we work. It is a mix of things happening here, someone might be getting a fade in one chair while someone else is getting ink done in the back room. We spend a lot of time cleaning up hair and wiping down surfaces because the dust from the road just never stops coming in. It is not a fancy setup, but the chairs are comfortable enough and the mirrors are clean. Sometimes the clinic next door is busy and people wait outside our place. We just go about the daily routine of cutting hair and doing tattoos. It gets quiet around lunchtime, and then picks back up when the sun starts to go down. The neighborhood has changed a bit over the years, but we are still here doing the same work every day at our little spot on the road.
