Bandu Hair Dressers

Bandu Hair Dressers is located inside the Shivani Complex on Koradi Road in Mankapur. Nagpur is a hot city, especially in the summer, so we have a small cooler that we keep running. We are near the Bank Of India, so many people stop by after they finish their work at the bank. The shop has been here for quite some time now. My father was a barber too, and I learned a lot from him. We have the old-style heavy chairs that are very solid and comfortable for people to sit in. We mostly do men's haircuts and shaves. It is a straightforward place. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars and maybe a photo of the family. The floor is concrete and we sweep it many times a day because the hair piles up fast. Mankapur is getting busier with more buildings, but our shop stays pretty much the same. Sometimes people just sit on the wooden bench outside to wait their turn and chat about cricket or the weather. We use a simple radio for music, mostly old songs that everyone knows. It’s a basic business but it keeps us busy and we know all the regulars who live in the complex. The sink is a bit stained from the hard water but it works perfectly fine for what we need. It is nothing special but it is ours.
