My father started this place long ago on this unnamed road in Taluka Kuchaman. We are just a stone's throw from the HDFC Bank, which helps folks find us when they get lost. Building houses around here is hard work because of the heat. We keep a lot of bricks and cement stacked up under the shed. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, even in our tea. I spend most of my day sitting on a wooden stool talking to contractors and checking the inventory. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything, just the materials people need to get their walls up. It gets pretty busy during the construction season before the rains come. My brother helps with the loading and the truck drivers are always in a hurry. We know most people in the neighborhood by their first names. If you walk past the bank and see a bunch of rebar and sand piles, that is us. We just try to keep enough stock so nobody has to wait too long. The town is growing fast, and we see new buildings going up every month. It’s a simple life here, really. We open early in the morning when it is still a bit cool. By noon, the sun is high and we mostly stay in the shade of the office. We don't use computers much, just some old ledgers to keep track of who owes what. It works for us.
