Our place for Jkc Cements Ltd. is out in Gotan. If you have ever traveled through this area, you know it is a town that really knows its cement inside and out. We have been a part of this local landscape for a long time. It is a quiet place compared to the big cities, but there is always something moving at the site. The air usually has that thin layer of grey dust, which is pretty much what you expect when you work with cement every single day. We have a lot of local workers who walk or cycle in from the nearby villages to help out. It is a simple setup really. We do not have those massive glass buildings you see in the bigger cities. Instead, it is all about the machinery and the bags being filled and stacked. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons here, so we try to get most of the heavy lifting done early in the morning. We keep things pretty basic around the office. There is a small area where we handle the documents and talk to the drivers who come to pick up the loads for different construction sites. Sometimes the tea stall down the road is the busiest part of our day when everyone takes a break together. We do not spend money on fancy brochures or things like that. We just focus on the bags and making sure the quality stays the same.
