J. K. White Cement Limited

This place is way out in Village Gotan. It’s in the Merta Tehsil part of the Nagaur district. It’s a lot different than being in a big city. J. K. White Cement Limited is basically part of the landscape here. There is a lot of dust and the sun is usually very bright over the fields. We see a lot of trucks coming through the village to pick up loads. The air always has that faint smell of dry earth and lime. Working in a place like Gotan means you get used to a slower pace of life, even if the work itself is quite hard. We don't have many shops or fancy restaurants nearby. Mostly, we just have the cement plant and the houses where people live. Merta is the closest big area, so we go there for things we can't find in the village. Life here revolves around the factory and the shifts. When the whistle blows, you know it’s time for a break or time to go home. We don’t use any marketing tricks to tell people who we are. Everyone in the Nagaur district knows we are here in Gotan. It’s a quiet village mostly, except for the noise of the machines. We just do our jobs, watch the trucks go by, and hope the weather isn’t too hot for the next shift. That is just the way it goes around here.
