J.K. White Cement Works

J.K. White Cement Works is located out in Gotan. If you haven't been to this part of Nagaur, it’s a bit of a trek, but the village and post office are right there. We spend most of our time here dealing with the white cement that this area is known for. It’s a bit different from the regular grey stuff. The whole place has a specific look to it because of the work we do. In Tehsil Nagaur, everyone knows the work is hard and the sun can be really bright. We have a lot of people from the local villages working with us. We aren't doing anything fancy, just making sure the production goes okay and the bags get filled. Some days are longer than others, especially when the machinery needs a bit of extra attention. We eat our lunch together in the shade when we can find it. You get used to the white dust after a while; it just becomes part of your clothes. The local area has changed over the years, but the work stays mostly the same. We don’t spend much time on computers or anything like that. It’s mostly manual work and making sure the trucks can get in and out of the gate without getting stuck. It’s just a regular workplace in the middle of Rajasthan, doing what we know how to do and making sure the orders are ready on time.
