Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Pvt Ltd

We run this branch of Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Pvt Ltd out of Vasthavya Apartment in Mysore. It’s a bit different from those big, shiny bank buildings you see in the larger cities. Our office is in unit 107, and it has a very local, Mysore feel to it. People walk in with their documents and questions about their policies, and we sit down with them at regular desks to figure things out. It isn't a very formal place, despite the big company name on the door. We have our own way of doing things here, mostly involving a lot of paperwork and talking to people about their families and their plans for the future. The apartment building itself is quite steady and well-known in the neighborhood. We’ve got some files stacked up and the usual office noise of phones ringing and printers going off. The staff here speak the local language and we know many of the people who come in by their first names. It’s just how things work in this part of Karnataka. We don't have a lot of corporate posters or slogans on the walls; we mostly just have maps of the area and calendars. Working out of an apartment makes the whole process of talking about life insurance feel a bit more personal and less like a cold business transaction. We just try to be helpful and get the forms filled out correctly so people can get on with their day.
